“If I could tell people something or confront an assumption about TikTokers or social media influencers, I think it would be that we’re all normal people and we all have hearts and feelings,” Rae says as she brushes up her arches with Patrick Ta’s shaping wax. “I think a lot of people don’t realize that just because it’s behind a screen and there’s thousands of comments doesn’t mean we don’t look at them or see the negative comments.”
To achieve a sun-kissed glow, Rae then takes a multistep approach, pressing a creamy blush onto her cheeks before topping it off with a bronzing powder and a smattering of faux freckles, courtesy of a chocolate-hued brow pencil. Charlotte Tilbury’s Goldgasm highlighting wand adds a lustrous finish, as does a wash of shimmery shadow at eye level. “I like a good dewy makeup look that is really glowy and fresh and simple,” she muses, coating her pout with Nars’s Banned Red bullet—“my all-time favorite lipstick color,” she notes—and a slick of shine-enhancing gloss.
While quarantining at home in Los Angeles over the past few months, Rae has been giving her hair, which is damaged from a recent blonde dye job, some much-needed TLC. “I definitely learned my lesson!” she exclaims, as she runs a pea-size dollop of Olaplex’s smoothing cream, as well as Dyson’s next-gen Air Wrap styler, through her lengths. For the final touch, she spritzes KKW’s golden currant berries perfume (another gift from gal pal Kourtney) on her neck and, in a surprising turn of events, behind her knees. “That is my finished makeup look,” she says, breaking out her signature viral dance moves. “Mwah!”
